The Champions League Group H matchup between home side Malmo and the visiting Chelsea is set to start at 18:30h at the Eleda Stadion. This is a massive opportunity for the Blues to grab an easy win and catch up to Juventus at the first spot of the group. Malmo has lost all three of their Champions League matches, while Chelsea have won two and lost one. Chelsea is trailing Juventus at the top of the group by three points. Meanwhile, Malmo is on the cusp of elimination and finishing their 2021 European adventure. 

Malmo has lost all three games very decisively 3:0 vs Juventus, 4:0 vs Zenit, and 4:0 vs Chelsea. They are yet to score a goal in this iteration of the Champions League and chances are that they are not going to do so in this matchup as well. 

Chelsea already has a win against Malmo and has added another one versus Zenit (1:0). Their only loss came at the hands of Juventus at Allianz Stadium by 1:0.

Malmo and Chelsea have played before, but all matches went in favour of the Blues. The two teams also faced each other during the 2019 Europa League where Chelsea comfortably won both games (3:0 at home and 2:1 away). 

Two weeks ago Chelsea won a game that seemed more of an exhibition to them. Andreas Christensen opened up the scoring sheet in the 9th minute of the game. The first half was concluded at 2:0 thanks to a Jorginho penalty in the 21st minute of the game. 

Kai Havertz got the Blues started at the very beginning of the second half when he scored in the 48th minute of the match. Jorginho fired up another penalty for the final 4:0 for the Blues. 

Malmo vs Chelsea Stats & Analysis

Malmo is undefeated in the Allsvenskan League in their last three matches. They even got a win against title contenders AIK 1:0 at home. They are still battling it out for the title as they are tied on points at the top with Elfsborg. 

Meanwhile, after losing two in a row (1:0 vs Manchester City and 1:0 vs Juventus) Chelsea went on a five-game win streak in all competitions. 

As far as the Champions League goes, Malmo is the worst side as they have not scored a single goal and have capitulated 11 times. Antonio-Mirko Čolak (11 goals) and Veljko Birmančević (9 goals) are their best players in the national league but haven’t made any efforts in the Champions League this season. 

Chelsea’s defence is quite good this season as they only allowed one goal past them. They have scored five, with Jorginho being the only one who scored at double figures with two.
