The ATP Tour world rankings are based on the performance of a player 52 weeks prior. Points are awarded depending on how far a player progresses through a respective tournament with the most ranking points available in the four Grand Slams, followed by the nine Masters Series events held every year. Less ranking points are available for the other tournaments on the yearly schedule.
